Being of all-stainless-steel contruction,
Cotswold Dairy Water Heaters are guaranteed against corrosion
and can be relied upon to give very long service. The fully
insulated internal tanks are fitted with a 1¼"
BSP stainless steel drain outlet (1½" BSP on 200
gallon and larger sizes), stainless-steel outlets and overflows,
and stainless steel elements. The inner tank is square,
ensuring maximum capacity in minimum space.
Most models include a time clock,
graduated in 15 minute intervals, as well as manual over-ride
button and indicator lamps. A thermometer calibrated in centigrade
degrees is also fitted. An automatic vacuum switch ensures
that no cold water can enter whilst the farm vacuum pump is in
operation.
Economy models are available, built to
the same high standards but with ball-valve feed in place of
the solenoid valve. |

Heat Recovery
Models are available, using the temperature of the hot gas produced
by the dairy refrigeration system to pre-heat the water.
Water heaters
can be supplied with a variable level stainless steel float switch.
This allows the amount of water to be heated to be changed very
easily.
Dual outlets are recommended (standard on 80 gallons and above),
to take advantage of off-peak electricity.
Various types of controller are available, from simple ball-valve
to sophisticated electronic systems using timers, level controllers
and microcontrollers.
ESSENTIAL
INFORMATION - WATER HEATER INSTALLATION
Cotswold Water Heaters are fitted with back-mounting bars, but,
due to their weight when filled, under-support is also necessary.
Load-bearing stands for all models are available from Cotswold.
When heaters are installed in a loft, please ensure that adequate
support for a fully-filled tank is provided.
Our water heaters are normally gravity-fed, therefore the water
outlets should be above the water trough unless it is intended
to empty the water heater using the plant vacuum or a pump.
In hard water areas, it is essential that a scale preventer and a water strainer are fitted.
These help prevent scale forming inside the water solenoid valve
and around the heater element. The cost of these inexpensive
devices will soon be recovered from reduced electricity charges.
Claims under warranty for damage or failure caused by hard water
and/or installation of the equipment to an unssuitable water
pressure will not be accepted unless the use has taken sensible
precautions. If you are in doubt please speak to Cotswold or
your dealer.
IMPORTANT
The cold
water inlet is controlled by an electrically operated solenoid
valve suitable for water pressures of bewtween 0 and 150 PSI,
(0-10 bar). Should your water pressure not be within this range,
please ask at the time of ordering and we will supply a water
heater with an alternative valve suitable for the pressure specified. |

FLOOR STANDING WATER HEATER
WITH SIDE MOUNTED HEADER TANK

|
PROBLEM:
Your Hot water becomes
progressively less hot as the milking cycle progresses
CAUSE:
Cold water is being admitted
to the hot water tank as hot water leaves, and this cools the
remaining water
SOLUTION:
Do not admit any cold
water until all of the hot water is used. Only then should you
refill the tank and heat water for the next milking cycle.
COMPLETE
SOLUTION:
Invest in a newly-introduced
Cotswold Water Heater with side-mounted header tank The
header tank contains a ball-valve feed system with vacuum-operated
clamp valve cut-off. This prevents cold water entering the tank
whilst the plant vacuum pump is running (ie whilst milking is
in progress).
BENEFITS:
A complete tank of hot water is available, which will NOT be
cooled by incoming cold water until the plant vacuum is
turned off at the end of the milking .
OK - it's not entirely new,
but a Cotswold Water Heater:-
- is of all-stainless-steel
construction - (no residential-style copper cylinders)
- has heating elements of long
life "Incoloy" which will last for many years
- has a fully-insulated rectangular
tank, making best use of the space available
- utilises strong brass ball
valve, not plastic type
- utilises electronic control
to minimise electrical consumption
- is exceptional value, yet
costs no more than existing models
SIZE The side mounted header tank adds 160mm (6.3")
to the width of the standard or economy model to which it is
fitted.

and economy water heaters. |
